RavenCroft Hydrosol

During steam distillation of lavender plant material, the sweet, fragrant portions of the water-phase are isolated, filtered, bottled, and cellar-aged for at least a year, allowing the hydrosol’s characteristic aromas to emerge fully. Don’t expect these to smell directly like lavender buds or oils — they have unique scent profiles of their own.  We offer two types of hydrosol: (1) Lavender Hydrosol distilled from Lavandula angustifolia varieties with its sweet, honey-like fragrance, and (2) Lavandin Hydrosol distilled from Lavandula x intermedia varieties with a brighter, aromatic, and somewhat herbal-sweet scent.  Hydrosol is also known as flower water, and has a wide range of applications, such as a linen spray, or as an additive during soap to lotion-making.
